Is AHA BLS the right course for me?

The AHA’s BLS Course is designed for healthcare professionals and other personnel who need to know how to perform CPR and other basic cardiovascular life support skills in a wide variety of in-facility and prehospital settings.

BLS is geared towards prehospital providers, like EMTs, paramedics, fire fighters, and in-facility hospital providers. HeartCode PALS is an online comprehensive eLearning program that uses eSimulation technology to allow students to assess and treat patients in virtual healthcare settings. In this environment, students apply their knowledge to real-time decision-making and skills development.

Students who successfully complete the online portion of the course receive a certificate granting them access to a PALS Hands-on Skills Session with an AHA PALS Instructor, or with a voice-assisted manikin (VAM) or Simulation Station. Students must successfully complete both the online portion and the hands-on skills session to receive a PALS Provider course completion card.

• To enter the course, students must complete the PALS Precourse Self-Assessment. Students are then presented with 12 In-hospital patient cases and a team dynamics lesson. Cases may be repeated as many times as necessary to pass. Upon successful completion of all the patient cases, students must pass the multiple-choice exam with a minimum score of 84%.
• Web-based, self-paced eSimulation instructional program for PALS cognitive training
• Students apply knowledge to real-time decision-making and skills development

The Basic Life Support Instructor Course is designed to aid the already practicing healthcare provider in developing the knowledge and skills necessary to teach the management of sudden cardiac arrest and healthcare level CPR resulting efficiently and effectively in improved outcomes.

Description:

BLS Instructor Essentials is the self-directed, online portion of the BLS Instructor Essentials Blended Learning Course. The course educates instructor candidates on how to adequately use AHA Instructor teaching materials and follow AHA Instructor and course policies. Upon completion of the course, Instructors can teach the BLS Provider Course, the HeartCode BLS Hands-On Session, and any course within the Heartsaver portfolio.

The BLS Instructor Essentials Course is taught in a blended learning format. AHA BLS Instructor candidates must complete the online portion, followed by the hands-on session conducted by BLS Training Center Faculty. Prior to taking this course, candidates must have a current BLS Provider course completion card.

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Instructor Essentials Online

Description:
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Instructor Essentials Online is the self-directed, online portion of the ACLS Instructor Essentials Blended Learning Course. It covers the components of the instructor cycle, including Prepare, Teach, Test & Remediate, Close, and Keep Current. It covers content such as ACLS Provider Instructor-Led Training (ILT) and HeartCode ACLS Blended Learning. Presented in two parts, Core and ACLS, allows students to complete it at their own pace wherever Internet access is available, as well as audio and subtitles for any students who may have a visual or auditory disability.

1. The PALS Instructor Orientation Course is REQUIRED, and is included in the price of this course, so please make sure YES remains selected for this option.
2. An Instructor Manual is REQUIRED. If you do not have your manual from your Initial PALS Instructor Certification class, or your course falls after an AHA guideline update, you may re-purchase it here. If you need this manual, please make sure you have YES selected for the PALS Instructor Manual.
3. A Provider Manual is REQUIRED. If you do not have your manual from your Provider Certification class, you will need to re-purchase it here. If you need this manual, please make sure you have YES selected for the Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Provider Manual.
4. The Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Instructor Essentials Online is REQUIRED to be completed before taking this class. If you do not have your certificate for the latest version/update of this online course, please make sure you have YES selected for the Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Instructor Essentials Online.
