The ACLS Instructor Renewal Course is designed for existing Rescue Elite ACLS instructors eligible for instructor status renewal.

Course Prerequisites:

• Aligned with an AHA Training Center
• A current ACLS Instructor card
• A valid ACLS Provider card or a valid HeartCode ACLS completion certificate.
• Registered with the AHA Instructor Network.
• Records demonstrating you have taught at least 4 classes during the current 2-year instructor certification period.
• Completion Certificate for the online course, ACLS Instructor Renewal Orientation Course (course included with registration).

Instructor candidates are responsible for having their own instructor and provider manuals (must be the latest edition, having the new guidelines). THE MANUALS MUST BE BROUGHT TO THE CLASSROOM SESSION IN ORDER TO BE ELIGIBLE TO RECEIVE AN AHA CPR INSTRUCTOR CERTIFICATION CARD. If you do not already possess these manuals, please add these manuals to your cart when enrolling for your class.

Course Monitoring:

Within 6 months following the successful completion of the Instructor course, the instructor candidate must be monitored teaching by Training Center Faculty (The TC may require additional monitoring, if needed). 

Certification Cards:

ACLS Instructor certifications are valid for a period of 2 years. To maintain ACLS Instructor status, you must teach a minimum of 4 ACLS classes during your 2-year certification period prior to renewal.

ACLS Instructor Renewal Orientation Course

The Instructor Renewal Orientation Course is MANDATORY per DISCIPLINE, and for all Instructors to complete prior to attending the classroom portion of their instructor renewal training program. This pre-requisite course is MANDATORY and INSTRUCTOR CARDS WILL NOT BE ISSUED to students who have not successfully completed this course in addition to all the other instructor renewal requirements. This Orientation Course replaces Instructor affiliation fees that were a previous obligation to receive instructor cards. This course is password protected, and so the key code you receive will be considered your password into the course. Each password is DISCIPLINE SPECIFIC, so make sure you are using the correct password for each discipline (i.e. a BLS, ACLS, or PALS).

 If you need to reschedule your course, you will be allowed to reschedule one time. Please email your request at least 24 hours before your initially scheduled course.

1. An Instructor Manual purchase is NOT REQUIRED for renewal, unless new science guidelines are published (i.e. 2020 AHA Update). If you do not have your manual from your Initial ACLS Instructor Certification class, or your course falls after an AHA guideline update, you may re-purchase it here. If you need this manual, please make sure you have YES selected for the Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Instructor Manual.
2. The ACLS Instructor Renewal Orientation Course is REQUIRED, and is included in the price of this course, so please make sure YES remains selected for this option.
